We all have our favourites and we would be happy to accomodate special requests. Get in touch to arrange a bespoke bouquet and we will do our best to accomodate your request.
I really need something delivered on a Sunday- can you do this?
Although Sunday is usually my day off, I am happy to accomodate deliveries with enough notice- get in touch.
Are the bouquets safe for animals?
If you are worried about any furry friends then please add an extra note as part of your gift message or get in touch directly- I will double check the suitability of the flowers used and make any relevant substitutions.
What is a floris's choice bouquet?
A florist's choice bouquet allows me to get a bit creative and use blooms that are the best value to create something spectacular. These bouquets are the best value because they allow me to adapt the flowers based on the very changable market costs and ensure you get a show stopper and a surprise!
Can you do same day delivery?
As a small, independant florist I do have to order in my blooms for each order. This does mean that I need 1 day of notice for an order. Unlike a highstreet florist I do not typically have flowers on hand as I aim to keep my bouquets as fresh as possible to make sure you get the best out of your blooms. There may be the odd occasion where I have some flowers to hand and can put together a florist's choice bouquet and I will often post these on social media.
How will I know when my flowers have been delivered?
You will recieve a confirmation of delivery email to the email address you used to make the purchase (be sure to check your spam!). I am to make deliveries by 5PM but ifyou need a bouquet delivered for a particular time then please do include this in your delivery instructions and I will try my best to adhere to this.

Weddings
Wedding flower planning, budget guidance, delivery, hire items, and floral details.
I am looking for a wedding florist but am unsure of my requirements or budget. What should I do?
It is completely normal to be figuring out your budget and requirements as you go. I am more than happy to put together multiple quotes or arrange a call with you to discuss cost-frinedly ways to bring your wedding vision to life. You are not bound to use my services of you ask for a quote so please don't worry about reaching out and asking questions- I am here to help!
Where should I get my wedding flowers delivered to?
You can get your flowers delivered to the venue the morning of your wedding. Alternatively, you can have them delivered the night before to wherever you are staying. Many couples like to have their flowers to hand for pictures whilst they get ready.
I am having a legal ceremony on a different day to my wedding reception. Can you cater to both?
This is all about timing- if the registry office and reception are within a couple of days then you will be able to re-use your flowers (do let me know as this will impact flower selection to ensure the flowers last). If the reception is more than a couple of days after the wedding ceremony then you would need fresh flowers.
I am making my own decorations- can you make bouquets to match?
Many couples like to DIY bits of their day and we can absolutely do our best to match this. If you are using faux florals then this can have different colours and textures to real flowers- they will not match when compared closely but the overall theme can certainly match.
Do you offer faux florals or silks?
No- I only use real fresh and dried flowers. If you are planning on using faux florals as part of your day then just let me know and we can try and make them match the fresh flowers as well as possible.
I am not 100% sure on how many buttonholes, bouquets etc I need. Can I add to my order?
Absolutely! Plans change all the time and I am flexible to adjusting your requirements. For our ‘ready made’ bouquets I need at least 1 week notice to add to your order. For bespoke weddings I need 1 month notice. If you would like to remove items from your quote please let me know as soon as possible.
Do I get to keep my flowers?
Absolutely! You can keep everything apart from any vases or other vessels- these are rented to you and will be collected at the end of the night. Large arrangements like meadows and long and low table arrangements are made in foam and can be taken apart or taken home as they are to be enjoyed for a little longer.
How can I save money and stick to my wedding budget?
Budget is so important and we are all about total transparency. If you have a particular budget the easiest way to stick to it is to let me know! I can then make any suggestions of alterations to help us stay within that figure. Take a look at my money saving blog for more advice.
A member of my bridal party has allergies, do I need to let you know?
Some flowers and foliage can cause minor reactions in some people. It is always best to let me know so that I can be mindful of selecting anything that can be irritating. Also let me know if you are having any furry friends at your wedding as some flowers can be dangerous for animals.
Can you put flowers on my wedding cake?
I am not insured to handle food and do not have the relevant training. However, I am more than happy to coordinate some flowers with your cake supplier or wedding venue as they will have the relevant training and insurances.

Funerals
Funeral flower timing, common tribute choices, and Colchester flower guidance.
How much should I pay for funeral flowers in Colchester?
Prices vary based on which florist you use and the design you require. Our most popular product is a double ended coffin spray which starts from £150 but we have smaller designs so every budget can get some lovely flowers. If you are on a tighter budget then take a look at our wreaths and posies.
What is the most appropriate flower for a funeral?
Traditional flowers include lilies, roses and chrysanthemums but the "right" flowers entirely depend on the memory of the loved one you are honouring. Did they have a favourite flower or colour? Let us know and we will do our best to accommodate any requests.
How long before a funeral should you order flowers?
The funeral planning process can be a stressful and emotional time. We require a minimum of 48 hours notice to ensure we are able to produce the best work we can for you. The earlier you book the more likely we will be able to accommodate any requests.
What flowers not to have at a funeral?
Again, there are no rules here. Some may say that bright flowers like sunflowers should not be used in a funeral — but we are happy to use any kind of flowers that you like.
What is the most popular flower for a funeral?
Roses and lilies are the most common and popular flowers to have at funerals. Carnations and chrysanthemums are also popular as smaller flowers in an arrangement.

Do you run any classes or workshops?

Would you be interested in a collaboration?

Christmas
Christmas arrangement ordering, freshness, care, and custom requests.
When should I order my Christmas arrangements to make sure they are still fresh on Christmas day?
You can order for Christmas delivery now! Our last delivery date is 22nd December.
How long will my Christmas arrangement last?
Your arrangement should stay looking fresh for a minimum of 5 days. After this point some of the more fragile flowers may begin to fade but these can be removed to keep the overall arrangement looking good. Most of the arrangement is made of evergreen foliage and dried elements so these parts will stay looking good for weeks!
How can I elongate the life of my Christmas arrangement?
Keep the arrangement away from strong heat sources like radiators. Keep the arrangement in a cool location (you could even pop them outside or in a shed when not being used — just don’t let them freeze!). Arrangements are made with floral foam which is soaked with water and stores some water to keep living elements hydrated — after a couple of days you may want to re‑hydrate the foam by slowly pouring a small amount of water onto the foam (you can remove something from the arrangement in order to do this).
I want to make a change to the Christmas arrangement — can I do this?
All of our Christmas arrangements are custom made to order. The beauty of this is that you can make any requests that you like and we will be happy to try and fulfil them. Get in touch if you have any questions or include a note when you place your order with a request.

What if they are not at home when you arrive?
I will always attempt to hand the flowers over in person, but if the recipient is out I'll follow the delivery notes you provide — leaving with a neighbour or in a cool, safe location — and send you a confirmation photo.
